It was my intention…
October 15, 2006
Before Ramadan began, I had plans to write a verse of the Quran on my blog, daily. As it is now day around 22, it is obvious that wouldn’t be happening. However, I would like to write a couple of verses that I have read so far this month. I usually try to finish reading the entire Quran within the month of Ramadan, which I have actually done a few times (don’t think I’ll make it this year, unfortunately). Here goes…..
1.(V.2:185) The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must observe fast that month…..
2. (V.2:255) Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul Qayyuum (the Ever Living, the One who sustains and protects all that exists). Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He know what happens to them in this World, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
3. (V.6:3) ….. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.
I really like the third one!!
