Live Yuh Life…

Things have been somewhat crazy for the last couple of months, renovating the house and such. Some people have voiced concerns about what we are doing, and to be honest, I really don’t know what the plan is exactly. But, I was thinking about life and people and decisions, feeling, desires…..etc. And I believe that life is very short……..too short.

Life is too short to stop yourself from doing what you want to do and being who you want to be! I recently turned 31, and as everyone knows…….being 30-anything feels like someone smacked you in the head with a frying pan…..daily! You start thinking about your life, your situation, accomplishments, failures and the big question – “what the hell have I really been doing for the last 20 years?” Seriously, WHAT? Seems like nothing, or not enough. I think your 30′s is a good time to put things into perspective, to figure things out and to do the things you really wanna do. Yes, even things that seem impossible. Nothing is impossible people, there is always a way…….find it!!

Having said all of that, I must mention that I am negatively realistic, so I do tend to side with logic most of the time. Which I think is necessary, as everyone needs to have a plan, a really good plan. There should be a method to the madness, and not just madness! But, once you figure out what you want to do and you devise a plan of action……you should follow through and make it happen. I don’t mean things like robbing a bank okay….for the crazy ones out there. Just normal, sane, legal things. And always remember, keep it real!

Sometimes we need to put the pieces of the puzzle together and sometimes we need to stand back and watch as things fall into place. I am a believer of destiny and things that are “meant” to be and I do believe that everything happens for a reason and that we should trust our instincts. But, I also believe that we do have choices and we should choose, carefully, what we want to do with our lives. We are here to LIVE, so “live yuh life”!!!

The thing about V-Day

I hope everyone had a successful Valentine’s Day……you can decide what “successful” means to you. I personally, am not a fan of Valentine’s Day, actually, it is not that I’m “not” a fan, as it is that I don’t care either way. However, my belief is simple…….if your significant other is buying you presents and sending you flowers on the day that society has decided they should, then how genuine are these gestures?

Really think about this. Imagine a regular day, no birthday, no anniversary and definitely no Valentine’s day, just a regular go to work, do laundry, buy socks kinda day. Now, imagine that your significant other decided to send you flowers or made a special dinner, for absolutely no reason at all….wow, wouldn’t that be great! And, it would mean that they’re thinking about you, for themselves, not because they are told that they have too on a particular date.

I’m just sayin……and no, I am not lonely and bitter, at all…..really, I’m not!!

No Sudoku for You!

Like most people, I have a lot of things to do…………work, school, business project, working out, disciplining my three little nephews (it’s okay, I live with them), washing utensils…….you know, just regular stuff. But, somehow I end up spending an excessive amount of time doing sudoku puzzles. It sort of got to the point of ridiculous……see Eid card from nephew below:

This has been going on for some months now and my sister mentioned to me a few weeks…….or months ago that I should really spend my time doing something more productive. So now I feel like I’m doing something wrong and I get the urge to hide my sudoku book under my pillow whenever I hear my sisters’ footsteps outside my bedroom door!! I figure this is how my next encounter with the “sudoku police” is gonna go down:

Sister: “What are you doing?”

Me: “um…..” *swallows” “…….nothing!”

Sister: “what ARE you doing? and what’s under your pillow?”

Me: “nothing….I was just thinking….”

Sister: “were you doing sudoku AGAIN?”

Me: “no!” *sweating*

Sister: *grabs sudoku from under my pillow* “NO SUDOKU FOR YOU!”

Anyway, I guess I really should be spending my time doing things that are more productive…..like studying or kickboxing! Fine, I’m inspired, I’ll do it, no more sudoku for me………well, maybe just a little bit!
